Diane Elliott was trained as a photographer at the University of Alabama.
She has served James Madison University (JMU) and the Shenandoah Valley Community as a photographer for over twenty-five years, photographing myriad cultural, community, campus, scholastic and sports activities.
She has contributed many valuable photographs of JMU activities to the media, enhancing newspaper and magazine articles featuring the University and the Valley.
More recently, Ms Elliott is exploring improvement of digital image services and University-wide image management services.
She teaches photography classes, conducts photography workshops, and has served Shenandoah Valley enterprises and institutions for decades as a free-lance photographer, covering the many commercial, social, and geographical phenomena which contribute to its beauty, cultural charm, economic prosperity and social values.
Among the awards and recognition she has received for excellence in photography are those
from the University Photographers Association and the Staunton Fine Arts Association. Most
recently, she received recognition from the Virginia Business Association for her
